What We're Wearing: Sunday Morning

I am beginning to love this blogging thing. The best part about it is that I can post anything I want, express myself anyway I want, and just share with you all the things I love. Sunday's are fun times because we get to go to a church that we love. We get to worship with some awesome music (Joel Hanson previously of PFR), we get to hear a great message (Pastor Dave Johnson or Pastor Steve Wiens) and we get to dress up. I love dressing up, but I don't get to do it too much as most my time revolves around chasing toddlers or preschoolers. A lot of people don't dress up for church anymore, especially at the more contemporary churches, like ours. Some do, some don't. It's more of a "come as you are" deal, which don't get me wrong, is great and sometimes I just want to wear jeans myself (especially with winter coming up!). But I remember growing up and going to church and it meant you did get dressed up. I like that memory. Some of my fondest memories of my childhood are being involved at my church.

I want to carry that on with my kids. I want them to enjoy going to Sunday School and I think dressing up for church is fun. I hope that my kiddos will enjoy it as well (especially my daughter, what can I say, everyone loves a little girl in a cute frilly dress). I've seen other people blog about what they're wearing on a daily basis and I love it. I love fashion and I love seeing where they found their unique pieces. I was thinking this morning as I was getting K ready for Sunday School, how fun it would be to have a section like that on my blog, but with my kids. What they're wearing, where they (or really I!) got it, and the price (because of course, it wouldn't be any fun without a great deal!). So anyway, here you go. Here are a few photos of my daughter (one with me). I love her little outfit today as I found it on clearance this summer for a crazy deal!

Baby K is wearing a Pampolina dress (Nordstrom Rack clearance: $4.13 [retail:$60]), Oshkosh B'Gosh mary jane shoes (Marshall's: $12.99), Hello Kitty water bottle (H&M: $3.95 [I think]).

Mod Mommy is wearing a gray toile dress (Target: clearance around $14), black Tahari sweater (Marshall's: around $14), black leggings (Marshall's: $4.99), black Steve Madden boots (The Annex in St. Louis Park, MN: $15)

Picked up a couple Hello Kitty juices at Marshall's for .99 each since my daughter loves Hello Kitty. How cute is that juice bottle?

  1. How cute that K's water bottle matches her dress. :) I love dressing up once in a while too! I love seeing little kids all dressed up for church. I haven't tried making my little boys wear ties yet, but I might have to do that soon.

  2. I loved dressing up for church too, and miss it at our current church. Didn't it seem that everybody dressed up at the church we grew up at? Like an unwritten rule, and I always loved to see what everyone would be wearing! You and K look beautiful and found some great deals! And my hubby and I are jealous of your music leader at church, Jeff used to work at camp with Joel a long time ago.
